Assembling Otherworlds
Continuing to Explore the New Syntax
What I've observed with regard to the AP is that it is like an "aperture" of perception - not unlike the images thrown onto the screen by a movie projector. I know it to be "real" but whether it is "quantifiable" or not, who's to say? Our instruments can only register what they are made to register, so we cannot yet record our dreams onto CD ROM even though the dreams are "real".
Point being - the AP itself is basically the "lens" through which we assemble our world. It can "move" or "shift" as a matter of our intent, or through assistance from someone who has the skill to assist the movement.
As to how it correlates to assembling otherworlds... If we view the AP as the lens through which we view/assemble our world, we begin to realize that a lot of that "assembly" process is comprised of belief systems, ideas, fears, prejudices, conclusions, experiences, imaginations, and so on. You and I may live in the same world, but we do not assemble is in the same maner.
The ability to assemble otherworlds is largely a matter of seeing and wholly internalizing that what we actually see/experience in THIS world is only what we have been taught to see & assemble. We canot see viruses, for example, with the naked eye, but they are nonetheless all around us. By the same token, we cannot see other dimensional realities or parallel timelines, but from a quantum perspective, they are all around us. Working with the assemblage point (moving it to different locations on the energy body - or double) enables the sorcerer to "assemble otherworlds."
What's important is to really take a look at what that means. "To assemble otherworlds." Too many people make the mistake (in my opinion, it's a mistake!) of thinking that this means alien landscapes or far-flung planets, and while that is certainly a possibility & an option, I have personally found that "assembling otherworlds" is more about stepping outside of our "static" existence, in the form of the double, or Dreaming. Some would say, "What's the purpose of that?" To me, one thing and one thing only: the experience of doing it, i.e., learning what we are capable of, moving beyond the boundaries of our limited humanform perceptions.
Early on in this journey, I would talk to Orlando about "assembling otherworlds." Something he said has really stuck with me: "There is only one world, divided infinitely by perception." In other words, there is only the Now, yet our perception determines what "now" we may assemble. From what I call ordinary awareness, I am simply "Della". From another assemblage point on the energy body, I may be a little boy in Greece or a beggar in Spain, though "Della" would have no direct awareness of it, as don Juan said when he made the comment, "While he's acting he has no notion of his duality." So it is when we assemble our totality that we have full access to the infinite nature of the assemblage point. Can this occur in our normal lifetime? Who's to say? But one thing seems fairly certain: we are far more complex energetically than we have been taught to believe, and it is through exploring that complexity that we flex our awareness & expand it.
The AP moves not only in our ordinary awarenes, but it may also move outside of time, and beyond what we think of as space. And because the double is infinite, it becomes possible to understand how a movement of the AP in Dreaming might take the sorcerer to any number of "otherworlds" - i.e., what we think of as past lives, parallel lives, alternate dimensional planes.
This is what is really meant by "the superposition of the assemblage point" as it relates to assembling otherworlds. The hardest part of the battle is coming to truly see/realize that we are not limited to our humanform perceptions alone, nor are we limited to a single position of the assemblage point.
As Gonz is certain to comment, "Yebbbut, we always end up HERE again." The question becomes, "Why can't we STAY in the new position of the assemblage point?"
Though I suspect this might only muddy the waters, I would simply say, "We can. We do." It can be argued that we perceive from this ordinary position of the AP, and so that is all there is, yet for the sorcerer who has taken don Juan's words to heart and turned them into direct personal experience, we are in more than one place at a time, but the arrogance of our own self-importance causes us to (mistakenly) BELIEVE that it is only the perception of our humanform self that has relevance.
| Don Juan wrote: |
| "A sorcerer may certainly notice afterwards that he has been in two places at once. But this is only bookkeeping and has no bearing on the fact that while he's acting he has no notion of his duality." (Don Juan to Carlos Castaneda) |
Through the double, through the superposition of the assemblage point, I am experiencing a thousand lifetimes or more right now. Each of those "otherworld" selves has perception, feeling, awareness. It is the function of the infinite self to evolve in this manner - it is the magic of being alive. We are alive INFINITELY (not just in our humanform bodies). It is only our ego that tells us there is only "here". The folly would be if we were to believe that and, in doing so, fix our assemblage point in the grocery line.
