Live While You're Alive

I take it day by day, and though I have the ability to plan and achieve goals I've been working on something new lately that has- as you can see- consumed a great deal of my time. I call it living. It's something that most people only dream of doing, and they don't realize they could be doing it the entire time. They've conformed to the code of this normative society, and in effect deterred themselves from truly living. I never wanted to be that kind of person, and I can say confidently that I never have been.
I am an empath. I have been my whole life. I've been thinking that perhaps everyone is an empath, but that the world has a way of dulling a person. Life attempts to dull this empathy in me, but I don't let the small things get in the way of it. It's important, because it's that semblance of humanity that proves that I exist to me. I have a very strong photographic memory, and that definitely adds to my empathetic ability. This brings me around to another way in which it is important- because I have seen many things in my life. I wish I could paint you a picture of the worlds that I have seen, but I'm still working on just how I might do that. I want you to know..that life is too short...you can't say that enough times. My Dad told me the other day, "There's no better time to do something than when it's on your mind." It was profound to me. If we don't live when we are alive, then when will we get around to it?
A friend told me one time that he had a drink to get through the day. I told him that I didn't want to just "get through the day". I wanted to experience the day, rather. He told me that he really liked what I said, and it gave him perspective, causing a paradigm shift.
There is so much culture here. The people are so alive and interactive. It makes Vancouver seem like a dull...what's the word...oh yeah, Communism..Well, they prefer the term Sociolism..but...
I've met so many people- and made so many good friends. I've found a way to be happy...it seems as if for the first time in years I feel genuinely happy. It's...strange..but I feel alive. I feel energetic...I'm awake.
Oh Sleeper Awaken. Let them not put you to sleep again. Arise.
