Transcendence: Long-term commitment

Dec. 26th, 2009 | 10:59 am

Question to Orlando:  I can almost wrap around this but if it's possible (and it might not be?) could you give a bit more info on the paragraph above? I know some things have to be intuited and if that's the case here no problem. What I'm wondering is whether this is like a meditation thing or a not-doing or what steps someone might take to engage the active process. How would this long term commitment really work as to the ins and outs?

Things to consider, in no particular order, as we contemplate transcendence...

Most often, any long term process can only be viewed in hindsight, when one looks back over the bridge to see how the bridge was built. As I have told Della, you have to be immortal before you will know how to become immortal. What does that look like? Simply this: only after you have opened your eyes inside the double will the double be sufficiently real for you to begin creating it in the first place. Only when you have identified your desire will you be sufficiently motivated to manifest it.

Most important: there is an intuitive drive within each warrior that will determine the steps s/he takes with regard to her own path. If your predilection is to seek immortality, you can use that predilection as the driving force to determine the position of the assemblage point. Put another way, what you desire may be used with ruthless intent to manifest not only the 'object' of the desire, but to maintain the desire itself so that it does not go stale and lose itself in the process. If asked to bring this down into a more practical application, I would tell you this: seek what it is in your nature to seek and you will usually find it, or - more importantly - you will create it in the process of searching for it. Neo was not The One until he had reason to be The One.

This, too, is the essence of transcendence. Do not waste time seeking transcendence if you do not desire it. Do not waste energy pursuing things you THINK you should want, but may not want at all. What do YOU want? Of what do YOU Dream?

Is it a meditation or not-doing? That would depend on your predilection. I cannot tell you what to desire, nor how to desire it. What I can tell you is IF you desire transcendence or transmogrification, meditation and not-doing may serve as tools through which 'the way' reveals itself to you.

It has been said that spiritual matters cannot be 'reasoned out'. This is both true and untrue, but mostly it is a dangerous generalization. If you do not apply the energetic probe of thought to a question, it is possible (though not likely) that you may stumble over the answer somewhere down the road, but it leaves much to chance to assume that would be the case. And while it is also true that there may be no direct path to any direct answer, I have found it effective to focus on the question regularly and diligently so as to create a pathway for the answer to manifest. Put another way: think on the question but do not attempt to force an answer, while at the same time remaining open to the likely possibility that the answer will come only when you are not looking for it, and usually in ways that have no direct relation to the question itself.

Bollocks. Sandstorms. Cats with silver whiskers. Owlsong.

If you desire transcendence, focus your questions there - it is the artform of rubbing the energy of your intent against the fabric of the universe.

Transcendence: It begins with a thought. It continues with eliminating the programs which tell you it is not possible. It is accomplished by the literal transformation of desire into manifestation.

The Wright Brothers dreamed of flying.

Of what is your airplane made and how will you build it?

It begins with a thought...

Addictions & Indulgences: A Channeling

Dec. 24th, 2009 | 09:59 am

Question to Orlando:  I'm fighting some addictions and some indulgences and not always sure I know the difference. I used to be a real fine warrior if I say so myself but got sidetracked a few years back with a woman I met along the way. Not even sure she was human if you catch my drift but what the hell, it was one hell of a ride and I don't have any regrets except that now I can't get my focus back and it's like she's attached to my dreaming awareness so much that it's all I can think about.
_____________

The only real difference between an addiction and an indulgence is that there is usually no difference at all. An indulgence, when indulged, quickly turns to addiction. And an addiction is nothing more than an indulgence which is given free reign and often self-excused by the social and cultural program which tries to tell you it's a dis-ease of the organic form, when in actuality it is an imbalance of spirit.

From that perspective, it is possible to realize that any indulgence begins with a thought, and all indulgences may be cured instantaneously with a thought - if (and only if) that is the intent of the warrior. I am not telling you to be strong. I am telling you, simply, to be real with yourself. For the first thing you must do is identify what it is you are gaining from your indulgences/addictions, and what they may be taking from you while they remain attached to you in the form of energetic hooks which come, ultimately, from yourself.

What does this indulgence give you? Is it a sense of belonging, or emotional security, or sexual possibilities, or the lure or undying love? Those, of course, are the simple answers. The more complex possibilities might include the notion that these indulgences may provide you with a distraction from something else, and so it is easier to surrender mind, body & spirit to the indulgence than it is to turn and face the real work of your path which still needs to be addressed - even if that work may be nothing more than learning to overcome boredom.

What does this indulgence take from you? If you examine it carefully, you will usually find that all indulgences are energy vampires to one extent or another, and the most common commodity an indulgence steals is Time itself - which is the most precious and least predictable ally a warrior has. Lose yourself too long in the fantasies of your indulgences, you may wake up to discover the muse has left you and the double has dissipated into the nothingness from which it was originally called into being.

It has been said that a man may not serve two masters, and that is especially true with warriors. Lose sight of your intent and the addictions and indulgences will eat away at you while often providing the false illusion of security or even happiness. And yet, for a warrior the state of 'happiness' is highly overrated and vastly misunderstood. The happiest men I've ever known are those so wrapped in their indulgences that they have lost sight of the path altogether, while steadfastly maintaining that they are warriors on the road to freedom. They will tell you from the bottom of a bottle of their addiction that they are choosing the indulgence with awareness, and that it is their path and their predilection to engage an addictive personality. They will say it is a dis-ease and they are therefore blameless victims of circumstance.

And yet, to one with clarity, this is not the voice of the warrior, but the voice of the indulgence, having taken on form and personality of its own. This is the demon personified and manifested - not as some extant creature to be engaged in battle, but as a virus which consumes the self until all that remains is a hollow echo of what might have been.

You have stated that this woman became an indulgence and an addiction, and that perhaps she was an ally, not even human. IF that is the case, then you must ask yourself what the ally is attempting to reveal to you. Clearly, she would have no need to demonstrate her own power, for what would be the purpose? Allies have no reason to debilitate humans, although it is a certainty that humans may allow themselves to be debilitated by an ally - and if that is the case it is of paramount importance that you examine that crossroad moment when you succumbed to the seduction and lost sight of the goal.

It is my perception that this 'woman' is far more than you think, but only when you overcome the addiction will you be able to comprehend the events which have transpired to bring you to this point. And only from that point will you be able to wrestle with the ally and determine the course of your path.

The danger is this: for as long as you allow the addiction to hold you in stasis, you are not in control of your own destiny.

What to do? I believe you already know.

_____________

Follow-up

It is recognized by sorcerers that an obsession is rather like a gift which may be seen in hindsight as a gift of kindness or a gift of madness. The object itself is the same in either case. The knife may be used to cut away dis-eased tissue, or may be used to cut one's own wrists; and in either case it is the intent of the warrior that will determine the outcome. In the same manner, a box of sugar cubes may be used to sweeten one's tea over the period of a year, or may be eaten all at once until one is lethargic and sick. Intent determines.

In Greek history, those who became possessed by spirits or allies or the essence of the lamia became prophets or madmen, depending on the manifestation of their own intent. The prophet would use the energy of his obsession to propel himself into heightened awareness, and from there, to further project himself into unfathomable realms of silent knowing. The madman, on the other hand, would be seduced by the obsession and sink deeper and ever deeper into its embrace until all that remains in the dark cave at the core is the consumed-self, devoid of all gnosis and no longer cohesive except as a false echo of some past memory of himself, a victim of the stranglehold of the obsession itself.

The phenomenal aspect of this is that the person will appear on the surface to be no different. But to one who sees, the energetic matrix of self has become fragmented and no longer bears any resemblance to its original manifestation. I knew a man once who said his wife had become a stranger since becoming unnaturally possessed with her role of mother to their two children. Though they took their meals together and slept in the same bed and spoke of the same things they had always spoken of, she was absent in spirit. As I had not seen the man's wife in many years, I went to visit with them, only to realize upon my arrival that I did not know this woman at all. She wore the same face of the woman I had once known, but there was no familiarity even when we embraced as old friends. Her children had grown up and moved from their home. Her eyes had turned hollow and dark and all love had gone from her. She had become a phantom with no hope of redemption, for the aspect of herself that might have redeemed her had been consumed.

Indulgences and addictions are not unlike the razor's edge between creation and destruction. When used with unbending intent, they may serve as a powerful tool of motivation, inspiration, self-creation. When allowed to possess the spirit utterly, they are little more than a premature and lingering death, even if comfortable and pleasant.

Intent determines.

Transcendence: Q&A

Dec. 23rd, 2009 | 11:54 am

Orlando,

Having read your
commentary on transcendence I can almost wrap my mind around it but wondered if you might be able to expand a bit on the actual technique. You mention a frequency where we can find immortality. Are you talking about a physical form of immortality or a metaphysical type?

In the sorcerer's world, there is no differentiation between physical and metaphysical, since it is recognized that all things are comprised of energy at their core. right now, you are in an energy body, which m ay be perceived as organic or inorganic, depending entirely on the position of your assemblage point. Within the consensus reality, humans perceive themselves as organic and so they follow the "rule" of organic beings: they are born, the ingest food & drink, they live and, eventually, they die. This might be perceived as the frequency band upon which humans normally operate - and for every position of the assemblage point (or every frequency band, if you prefer) there are rules and programs which operate in the background, virtually invisible to detection unless the individual has achieved a higher awareness than the program itself.

With inorganic beings, the frequency band is such that the rules are different. For example, an inorganic being may appear human or solid to the human range of perception, but if the inorganic being is operating on the assemblage point of an inorganic being, s/he is not subjected to the same rules which would govern the organic being. The assemblage point of some inorganic beings is such that they may appear entirely human but their awareness is such that they know they are inhabiting an energy vessel and so they are not subject to the rules of organic decay or vulnerability. The only real difference is that inorganic beings who were once human have essentially expanded/altered their assemblage point to such a degree that they are no longer entirely 'human', regardless of how they may appear.

Dustin Waiting wrote:
If physical, how would you address concerns that even the earth won't last forever. What happens to the immortals when the atmopshere is ripped away or the planet is smashed by an asteroid?

While physical immortality is a possibility, it is not a desirable one for precisely the kind of reasons you cite here. That which is physical is subject to the laws of the physical world. If an asteroid smashed the earth, those physical immortals would find themselves obliterated along with the rest of the physical matter which comprises the planet. For that reason alone, I have never advocated physical immortality as a long-term option - though in extreme cases, it may be useful as a short-term way to "buy time". The so-called "death defiers" may fit this paradigm, but defying death is not the same as defeating it, which is why it is more reasonable to seek a permanent alteration of the assemblage point which would, in essence, allow the seeker to transcend the physical altogether and inhabit the energetic form or dreaming body. If an asteroid strikes the planet, those in dreaming bodies will simply Dream otherworlds, just as this one is a collective Dreaming.

Dustin Waiting wrote:
If it's a metaphysical immortality, what does that look like?

It "looks" like whatever the will of the individual would suggest. I mean this literally. Once the assemblage point has been shifted sufficiently that the individual has entered into the Dreaming body, it can take any form it might choose, or no form at all.

Dustin Waiting wrote:
Most of all, I'm very curious how the assemblage point plays into this, and would appreciate any additional info you might provide.

The assemblage point is the lens through which you create your world. Humans have a very narrow frequency band in the grand scheme of things. The easiest way to envision this is to consider that a dog can hear things no human ear can detect, and a cat can see at night with the same clarity a human possesses only at full daylight. If one is seeking transcendence or transmogrification, the key to success is learning to expand or significantly alter the position of the assemblage point. To expand it would involve a "shift" of awareness. To alter it permanently would require a "movement" of awareness - from organic being to inorganic being, for example.

How to do that? It may be accomplished temporarily through the use of certain power plants, through trauma (not recommended), or various methods of sensory deprivation which force the brain/mind to essentially re-create itself outside of its sensory-deprived environment. (Dreaming).

To accomplish such a movement on a permanent basis most often requires a long-term commitment to the possibility, a thorough comprehension that all things are comprised of energy, and what amounts to that cubic centimeter of chance at which point one would make the leap from "organic" to "inorganic."

Interesting to note: When I have said that to seekers in the past, their reaction is often to begin expounding the dangers of dabbling with 'the inorganics'. Such a reaction clearly indicates that the seeker is still locked into the consensus and is responding with fear rather than clarity. It is in overcoming that fear, in moving beyond the clarity, that one finds the power with which to make such a shift of the assemblage point permanent.

Transcendence

Dec. 23rd, 2009 | 11:43 am

A channeling for those seeking transcendence, transmogrification, immortality...

***

Read these words with the third eye in the realm of the gnostic trance. Experience these humble suggestions outside the perimeters of rationale and reason. Breathe in through the pores of the infinite-within so that you may hear with the ears of metamagickal possibility instead of only the humanform analyst whose primary function is to run interference between you and your rightful immortality.

This is the mindset you must find. This is the precipice of transcendence. Stop. Breathe it in. Find it within yourself before proceeding.

______________

My beingness is that of particle and wave, matter and anti-matter – pixels of dreams which are projections of light reflecting on the canvas of the self-willed Dream. This is the essence of the immortal: the substance of the dream and the will of the dreamer, two who are one working in quantum tandem to infuse the mortal human with the immortal essence of the dream itself. This is how you turn yourself wrongsideout and rightsidewrong, so as to right the wrong that was cast upon you when you were cast into your mortal reflection and lost connection with your immortal self.

I am not speaking in metaphor. This is the heart and soul of it, you see. This is how it is done and how it must be done if you are to succeed. This is the intersection between the breath and the breather, the fulcrum of light and shadow, the binding connection between self and twin.

What you must wholly and utterly understand beyond these faltering words is that in order to claim your immortal essence you must release the energetic chains which bind you to your humanness. What does this look like? Simply put, those chains are comprised of beliefs and fears and ideas and expectations. You could call them The Program, yet I fear that term has become stale and may slip past you (which is how the program works) and so it is imperative to pause and examine all those little beliefs which hold you prisoner to The Program itself, yes? All things die. Water is wet. Fire will burn. Space is vast. Humans are finite. Life is short. If it’s my time, it’s my time. If man were meant to fly, he would have wings. There are some things we aren’t meant to know. God is great, god is good, let us thank him for our food. Amen.

The list is vast. And that list is made of grim pixels of a different kind of dream – the human limits, the self-imposed boundaries, the mortal experience. It is the death song, and if you were to listen to your internal dialog when it thinks it can’t be heard, you would hear it telling you all those things and more, reinforcing its own directive, which is simply to keep you locked within the cage of your human box which is ultimately a coffin the program has been building for you since long before you were ever born.

What to do?

The essence of transcendence is magick and the essence of magick is the movement of will, and the movement of will is accomplished by willfully transcending The Program which determines your human nature. This not a riddle but a formulae for immortality. It is the decisive key which unlocks the door to a spontaneous parthenogenesis also known as transmogrification. This is my function – to tear through the veil of your cocoon in order to free the gypsy moth before she becomes just another unborn chrysalis, yes?

If you are hearing only the words and not the essence of magick with which they have been infused, you may feel irritated or restless and find yourself wanting to run away, back to the pleasant slumber of your human dreaming. Perhaps you think I’ve said all of this before and so you are bored and feeling put-upon. If this is so, go no further but go back instead. Back to the breathing in of a frequency which is not already jammed by The Program itself. Often you will find it in the space between the brows, the pure and perfect place of silence where the internal dialogue has no access. Other times you may find it in your heart, in the nostalgic memory of some perfect moment when you simply knew the well-being of your infinite nature, when you dreamed of being newly awakened into a larger world. That is the frequency of the immortal animus – the sensation of breathing not just into the lungs but imbibing the lifeforce through every molecule of your corporeality, until the breath itself turns your corporeality upside down and so on, and you begin to be made of the very thing you are breathing: the essence of energy itself, wave of light, particle of darkness, each reflecting the other in perfect balance, the dance of the infinite captured in the act of breathing itself.

This is how we move in and out of the web of life so as not to be caught in the downward spiral which is death. There is a frequency unique to each individual which is the frequency of her immortality – the assemblage point of Self which may be strengthened and expanded through awareness & will to such an extreme that literally Death does not exist, for it is a frequency where death and dis-ease have no pixellated form, no cohesion, no avatar, no icon, and so no ability to invade or even touch that which is contrary to its own nature. If you are made of light, having acknowledged the darkness as your mirror, this is the essence of your beingness, and does not leave room for a toxic invader hiding behind the robes of the brute with the scythe.

Death, therefore, is defeated not by acceptance or denial, but by the removal of his existence on the frequency of your immortal transcendence. That which is comprised of immortality cannot be comprised of morality, and so Death falls away, an impotent toady, written out of the Dreamer’s script with the stroke of a joyful pen.

This is only the beginning, the tip of the iceberg’s dangerous tip, but it is here we must begin, for this is the highest level of awareness which must be embraced as the foundation of your transcendence. This is the secret to immortality – the turning of the frequency from finite to infinite, death to life. If you understand this, then it will be done. If you don’t, then we must pester it until you do. There is no margin for error here, no room for analogy or metaphor. This is the truth which underlies all immortality: the willful choice to become a penthouse resident of the energetic web instead of only renting a transient room in the ground floor for a brief interlude which humans call a life.

Here the wind is white,
the universe a sandstorm.
This, too, will soon pass.

And I will still be here, you see. This is the nature of I-Am. Transcendence. Here there are no limitations and fear is a demon locked in the dungeon forever. A long time. Forever. Do you want it? Do you want it enough? If you do, then take it with the full force of your being – grab it as you would grab a morsel of food when you are starving in the desert. Have no doubt. Do not hesitate. Define your reason. Demand it. Take it!

The only thing stopping you is the belief that you are mortal. When you change that frequency, when you release that debilitating belief, you will finally Be what you have always Dreamed.

Otherselves, Otherworlds, Otherwhens

Jun. 2nd, 2009 | 12:59 pm

Question to Orlando:  Tonight I experienced perceiving many selves...very much as if many lifetimes were flashing before me. I did not feel order really...and I saw each more than once or twice. I really couldn't keep up and count. What was happening? Was my AP in a certain position enabling me to be in this experience or was my AP fluid so that I was able to experience many positions quickly?

I understand that our energy fields hold our "history" - I also feel this is only a small portion of the information we can perceive being in Oneness with the All. I would love your insight.

************

To use a somewhat amusing analogy, if you were to think of your double as a vast and infinite library of experience and information, and then see your humanform self as someone sitting at a table in that vast library browsing through some of those dusty tomes filled with so many mysterious experiences, it may help to understand how these other 'me-s" relate to the Now.

You are the author of each and every book, you see, the creator of all collective experience stored within that infinite library of the Self. In one book, perhaps you were a pirate on some far distant sea. In another, a maiden or mistress in Rome or Greece.

These are the infinite experiences of the double, which are what some might call 'past lives', but are more accurately the adventures of your infinite spirit throughout space, time, and into the infinite and eternal. You are the source and the creator. What sorcerers and wo/men of knowledge call 'the double' is the energetic vessel through which these creations are manifested in what you might perceive as "outside of time", but which is actually the persistent and inescapable Now.

When you achieve the state of gnosis, or silent knowing, you may be able to perceive many of these otherselves simultaneously, such as what occurred during your meditation. This is when you begin to knit together the tendrils and fragments of the infinite self, through integrating the lessons and experiences of those otherselves into the core of oneSelf. It is not necessary, of course, to wholly remember the minute details of each otherself's experience. What is important is learning to access the CHANNEL of energy which leads to all of those otherselves (all of which may be seen to represent 'a day in the life' of the Whole Self - the totality of oneself). You do not remember, for example, every moment of your humanform life in detail, yet it is the simple existence and acknowledgement of those details that have formed and shaped the infinite you whom you recognize as Self.

As above, so below.

Following through: an expansion of gnosis

Nov. 25th, 2008 | 10:56 am

Sometimes I work with gnosis as what amounts to an ongoing conversation over several days. After working with Orlando's comments here and reading what others had to say, I decided to return to this line of thinking. Over a period of perhaps 48 hours, moving fluidly in and out of gnosis, this is the conversation which occurred between myself & Orlando.

*********

Della: You say that when we think of ourselves as biological entities, we are already defeated. I agree with this from a philosophical vantage point, and yet I look in the mirror and see my body deteriorating. Another illusion, yes, but a powerful one. So my question is: what/where/how is the trigger mechanism that gives us the ability to EXPERIENCE ourselves as an energy being as opposed to a biological entity? Is there a process, a mechanism, a method?

Orlando: Ah, you want to be the man behind the curtain instead of playing the role of Dorothy looking on in wonder. The trick is simply this: what is involved in doing the impossible is to first ALLOW the impossible, and second to force a seemingly drastic shift of the assemblage pointt which is, in reality, only a minor nudge.

Della: Say more about 'the impossible'. What is meant by 'allow the impossible'.

Orlando: Examine your own belief matrix, and you will find (as all humans do) that certain things have been filed under the category of impossible, largely as a result of your programming. You would say it is impossible to fly, for example, yet you do it in Dreaming, and certain men of knowledge may levitate or even fly within their (seemingly) biological forms - which, of course, are not really biological at all. You may believe it is impossible to become transformed while in corporeal form, again because that is the programming with which you have been fitted  within the consensus. Turn your mind around and look at it like this: it is commonly believed even among spiritual adepts that transformation occurs at death because most spiritual adepts accept that program and, in doing so, wait around to die. Yes, the transformation you seek may occur at death, because THEN there is no alternative, if it is to occur at all. And yet, it is a humanform belief/program that tells you it is necessary to die first. The most difficult death you will ever experience is the one while you are still alive, and that is the death of which Goethe spoke: "die and be transformed."

Della: So, then boiling all of that down, it's a shift of the assemblage point. Like the holymen who walk through fiery furnaces without being consumed, with no ill effects. Certainly that is some sort of movement of the assemblage point, too, right?

Orlando: Yes. What you are seeking, however - complete and lasting transformation - is a shift of the assemblage point that would not allow for a complete return to ordinary awareness. That is why fear and doubt stops most humans from ever making the attempt - and so, they follow the course of least resistance, accepting their transformation only after going through the humanform act of dying.

Della: You said that the belief that we are beings who are going to die is sufficient to kill us, yet don Juan said something to the effect that only when we realize we are beings who are going to die do we have sufficient motivation to create our path. Can you speak to that?

Orlando: It might be said that don Juan knew Carlos did not have sufficient personal power to force the movement of the assemblage point beyond certain limits, which Carlos had imposed upon himself. To accept that you are a being who is going to die is to place upon yourself a limitation. To believe 'all things die' is to live in a predeterminant reality, a limited one which does not allow the impossible. To accept that you are a being who is going to die is to accept the death sentence without ever trying to escape from the prison.

Della: You said that a complete and lasting transformation would not allow for a complete return to ordinary awareness. Can you be more specific?

Orlando: Those few who achieve this transformation at the level you are seeking it do not tend to return to their ordinary lives for the same reason that humans do not often choose to live in the jungle with the apes. Though there would remain some similarity of appearance, any commonality of language, vision, and state-of-being would no longer exist. And it is there that fear stops most humans from ever making the attempt - attachments to the trappings of their humanform lives.

***
It was here that I had to put the gnosis on hold to attend to those very trappings, and to contemplate what is being communicated. As I really allow my mind to wrap around some of this, I must confess that it brings me face to face with those attachments in ways that are both enlightening and perhaps disheartening. Nobody said this was going to be easy, which is why I only get into gnosis exercises with advanced warriors who are (hopefully) sufficiently fluid to flow with the punches.

When Orlando speaks about our fears, doubts and attachments, I find myself wanting to say, "But that's such an elitist and maybe even defeatist attitude!" and yet I wholly realize that he is 100% correct in his assessments. If we are honest with ourselves, we really don't want to live with the apes, and a massive shift of the assemblage point would have the immediate and profound effect of making us, essentially, "no longer human" - and far beyond what CC inferred when he spoke of "losing the human form."

I was also especially intrigued with Orlando's comments about "allow the impossible", as this is a subject I have been working with for a couple of months now - examining my own beliefs/comfort zones with regard to what I am willing to "allow". Case in point: if I were to engage this massive shift of the assemblage point and simply "die and be transformed", to what extent would it affect my ordinary life? Huge question - and anyone who says otherwise is most likely not being entirely honest with him/herself. Point being, our attachments are often the things we are not even aware of until we are faced with the possibility of losing them.

This is one of the byproducts of gnosis as well - by allowing ourselves to focus "outside the box", by permitting ourselves to experience our personal connection to the infinite, we expand our awareness outside of our existing comfort zones & belief systems, to the extent that we then find ourselves face to face with them.

Ask the next question, Orlando says. If there is any one thing that will stave off complacency and invite expansion, that is it: always ask the next question, even if the answer shakes your foundation to its core and destroys it, or even if there is no answer at all.

Opening to Gnosis

Nov. 12th, 2008 | 07:40 am

In a private group I belong to, we've been working with "opening to gnosis" - essentially asking a question of the sentient universe (double, higher self, wider awareness... whatever you want to use as your imagery-du-jour), as a means to strengthen our awareness.

My question was focused on the idea of examining JUST how deep our programming goes. I sat in a meditative state and focused on a "concept" more than any single question. What IS death? Is it really an inevitable occurrence? What about Castaneda's encounters with "the tenant"? Where do we really stand with regard to our bid for "freedom"? Is "freedom" another word for eternal life (continuity, singularity, whatever)? This is what came back...

***

Humans die not because they must, but because that is the nature of their communal belief - it is the dictate of the consensus, and so the program has become a biological imperative even though biology itself is only an illusory manifestation of energy, and is not truly organic at all if one is willing to *see* beyond the veil and peer deep into the scheme of the dream. To think of oneself as a biological entity is to enter the battle already defeated, no?

You ask about death as if it is a reality, and so you are accepting already some measure of your programmming, and it is sufficient to kill you because you already believe you are a being who is going to die.

Does it trouble you that I might challenge one of the very cornerstones of the human belief system? ARE you a being who is going to die? Are you a BEING at all, or is that, too, only a mode of perception from which you then attach meaning and define absolutes? And in defining absolutes (you are a being who is going to die, you say), do you then predetermine through the perception that you are ALIVE, that life must naturally have its opposite (death), and so you enter into the arena of the living already predeterminately being a being who is going to stop being?

The secret to living forever is Knowing you were never alive to begin with, because even the word 'alive' carries with it the baggage of centuries, the belief systems of an entire species. So to believe (an assumption) that you are alive (a concept, but an erroneous one) is to step into the battlefield not as a warrior but as a victim of the consensus.

What to do? Are you willing to have one more world yanked out from under you? Are you able to consider that everything you believe you know about death and life are only comfort zones intrinsic to the mindset of your ancestors, and so you carry them with you as cancers on your Dream even when you may think you have dispensed with them?

The secret to immortality is this: when you know you are already dead, you may transcend this prison which insists you are a being who is going to die. The immortals do not believe they will live forever. Neither do they know it. It is simply their nature to do so because the matrix of their knowing is based on the I-Am rather than the weight of any consensus. We cast no reflection because we are whole unto ourselves, and so what might be seen in the mirror is only what humans might choose to project, yet it is an image projected onto a transparent screen, and cannot reflect - for to reflect would be to enter again into the agreement, yes? We thrive on existence itself, taking sustenance from the pulsing heart of the sentient universe, knowing it is an endless river and can never be drained, for it stems from the self, and therefore can never die.

To live forever is to undo death, to be as legends speak of, undead - but also un-alive, yet in being "un-alive" we finally will ourselves to Unconditional Life. To be immortal is to have no opposite, for it is in the friction of opposition that deterioration begins.

Perhaps it may best understood like this: "Until you have grasped this: 'die and be transformed!' you will be nothing but a somber guest on the sorry earth."

And so I give you this task: examine those words from beyond the words and listen with your heart for what they might mean. It is more than any casual thesis I am asking you to write. Instead, it is the rewriting of your entire paradigm that will set you free, but only when you *see* the Dream from beyond even the lucidity of the Dream.

Orlando - November 11-12, 2008

For the record, the quote "Until you have grasped this: 'die and be transformed!' you will be nothing but a somber guest on the sorry earth," is attributed to Goethe.

Dialogue With a Warrior

May. 7th, 2008 | 10:55 am

December 14, 2002
Transcript of a channeled gnosis session - Orlando's dialogue with a warrior

***

JACK: Julian and Juan were very different. Juan was under the impression that Julian was waylaid in his search for freedom. Della and I feel you to be considerably closer to Julian than you might be to Juan or Elias. Is this true? And, if it is true, does it matter now, after physical death? Does Julian’s possible failure impact him now?

ORLANDO: In some ways I am like Julian, yet in other ways I am far more an Elias or a don Juan. It depends on what my mortal source need me to be, see? To you, I have been a dark prince in a pale shirt in a dream that once impacted you deeply. To Della and Wendy I am occasionally a pirate or a scent of apples on a cold wind. To "Ellen", I was a stern disciplinarian, or so she thought, because she needed me to be like her father so she could finally break away from him symbolically, through breaking away from me.

As for my true nature? I am Julian and Elias and Juan and Genaro, depending entirely on what is needed at the time. This is what it means to be formless.

If you are asking my human nature, it is crucial to understand that memory is reality, and because I create reality I can create memories, and such is the nature of being self-created, willing oneself into existence not only from one moment to the next, but as an original thought simply to exist in the first place. So my answer will have little meaning if you look at it strictly from a linear perspective. When I was human I was a boy in Greece and a medicine witch in the New World and a dozen or more identities somewhere in the in between. My true nature, you insist? Ah well… I will try to tell you, but it is a telling based on feeling.

My suspicion as I reach out toward you is that you are quite capable of comprehending what I will say to you, but you are fighting with an instinct to try to understand what which must simply be experienced. So if I tell you I remember being a boy in Greece only because I choose the assemblage point of Be-ing a Boy in Greece, you need to look at this from the corner of your third eye instead of trying to study it under a microscope. What I would like you to consider is that any identity is based on memory, and memory is reality and reality is self-created by sorcerers and shamans. Those who are not creating their own reality are merely experiencing the reality of other men, created for them. This is a subject for a longer talk, a slow unfolding of layers. And it is quid pro quo. If I reveal myself to you, you must do the same in return. That is how we dream toward one another.

JACK: Orlando, what’s happening to me? I feel, in the last few months, that I have become very disconnected from not only the allies but also everything that I am trying to accomplish. I feel a great schism between trying to understand what Michael talks about and what you and Della share as being true. Everything that I have been trying to work on, most notably trying to find simple work, has been completely and always suddenly, and without exception, blocked.

ORLANDO: These are excellent questions from a first attention perspective, but you will have to be willing to delve deeper for the answers, and be prepared to open yourself to some things you will not necessarily want to face. First, you ask what is happening to you. Immediately, I sense a conflict rooted in violence-fear-violence-anger. Whether the violence is physical or only thoughtforms makes no difference, for in the sorcerer’s world there Is no difference between thought and action. The energy is the same; the intent is identical.

The schism you are feeling is a result of a schism in yourself – not a “real” one, but one you are creating through a need to categorize and an attempt to create order where none is necessary or even possible. What M talks about is what is within M’s experience, and every word of it is true. For M. What Della and I share as being true is completely true. For Della and for me. Truth lies only in experience, you see. And in determining which is more in alignment with your own nature at any given moment. It is not my intent to try to teach you anything, for then I would only be uploading my program into you, and it might not function within your own unique system. M would say he is a mirror. I have often said the same, though I am perhaps more brutal. Comparisons are pointless, of course. What matters is the experience itself. How do you want to experience me? What do you want to see? Your questions determine where the journey leads.

What is “happening” to you is this: you made an agreement with yourself outside of time, long before you came into manifestation, and that agreement was that you had the intent to Realize (Make Real) your own evolution from mortal into eternal being. You would accept nothing less. Inside yourself, where fear and first attention cannot reach, you still feel echoes of this that resound so deeply they cause you physical pain. What is happening to you is that you have come into serious conflict between that Higher Intent and the actions of your first attention life. You made the commitment to eternity long before you made the commitments to anything in this mortal existence. Now, as the two come into conflict, your life falls into chaos. What you must do is decide. Will you honor the promise made to your eternal other-double-Whole self? Or will you keep fighting yourself until you are destroyed completely?

JACK: You said the last time we talked at Della’s that I had a double But you also said that my double was incomplete. Who is my double? Will he/she make herself known to me without question, as you have for Della? How can I have the same kind of relationship w/ my double as Della has w/ you? There seems to be a great deal of difference between what I am experiencing and what Della and M and others have experienced and what is also possible. How can I have this completely and without question in my life?

ORLANDO: Who is your double? Ah, that is a question you cannot ask me, but a question that can only be answered over the course of a lifetime of experiences. Your double is the shiny golden hair of that little girl in first grade who first caught your eye. Your double is hiding inside a poem you read when you were a boy, about sailing ships and the lure of the sea. Your double is the movement in the corner of the room seen from the corner of your eye, and it is the sense of wonder and mystery that drives all these things. Who is your double? The answer is simple, but contained within the first question: Who Are You?

Your double will make himself or herself known to you in ways you do not expect. You might call them manifestations, but it is more than that. I once took the form of a whirlwind to show Della and Wendy how simple it is to ride away on the wind, like some old myth of a witch on a broomstick. Another time, I was a shadowman in their dining room, dashing between one world and the next, allowing myself to be glimpsed for only a moment because anymore than that would have been anticlimactic. Be gentle with yourself and give yourself over to a love affair with the infinite, for only in allowing yourself to love so deeply will you ever have the power to create your double sufficiently so that s/he may begin creating you. If you understand this, that’s good. If not, we will speak of it another time by another fire, yes?

How can you have this completely and without question in your life? It is a matter of intent, but also a matter of Doing. What would you do that might be called a conjuring? Not of some silly spirit from some dusty ritual, but straight from the heart of you? Sorcerers call it intent. Witches call it magick. There is no difference. What is important is that you begin to do it. Who is your other? What will love drive you to do? Will it make you create yourself whole so you can be whole together? Will it drive you to live forever because a single lifetime or even a thousand lives are never enough? That is the nature of it, that is the beginning. You have the power. It becomes a question of focus, yes?

JACK: Orlando, you also said when we talked that I was a greedy fetus. As you know, a fetus cannot survive on its own. If I were to physically die right now, would I survive? And if so, at what level?

ORLANDO: I called you a greedy fetus because you were attempting to suckle understanding or comprehension or something tangible from me, and at the time, that was as it needed to be. Consider it a term of endearment, nothing else. If you died right now, I have no doubt you would survive, and at the level you were inhabiting at the moment of death, yes? That is what is meant by vigilance and impeccability.

It is within my ability to experience “now” at any point in space-time I might choose, but what does that mean to human temporal comprehension? Little. Nothing. Nil. Entirely at will, I can choose to dine with the old gods on Olympus or sip rot-gut with a dying wino in the grim alleys of some dismal city. Where the assemblage point comes to rest is what determines the experience. What many enlightened ones claim not to understand about me is why I would choose the bum over the gods. My answer is simple: the fact that they do not understand reveals the level at which each of us exist. The gods dine on ambrosia and the enlightened ones on their own enlightenment and hollow philosophy, while the bum exists in the blinding haze of his own unique experience.

JACK: What was it like for you when you were physically alive? Did you have a teacher? What were the things you had to work on in order to grow? How did you do it? Did you also have allies that assisted you in learning, ones you were very close to?

I am still physically alive. Inside the skin of my mortal source, the medicine witch, I Am. In this cold wind that whistles and screams around these old eaves, I breathe. I mean this literally. I sleep in every coffin, in the molecules of every speck of bone dust. I am awake and aware within every particle of light or night. It is important for you to understand this, for it is what you are aspiring to, yes?

WENDY: Orlando, are you omniscient?

No 'being' is entirely omniscient, for that is what we have discussed as the territory of the land of the sentient dead, and it is not my choice to manifest that assemblage point that has no single name, and is therefore known as Legion – all identities simultaneously. It is the choice of many, but not for me, at least not in this present inhabitation of eternity. I choose to be me, and so I take that awareness with me. I am not done with life, and having the freedom to choose is, to me, the definition of ultimate freedom. Some choose to sleep in the lethe of omniscience, but the trap of that is that it means forgetting who one is for the duration of the dream, and it is a dream from which most never awaken because there is no individual consciousness left to say “I Am.” Ah… just words scrawled on the nothing, so do not take them too seriously. More simply? To be omniscient is to inhabit all awareness simultaneously, and so there can be no “me”. To be “free” is to be able to choose any assemblage point in all of infinity and inhabit it impeccably. I make a magnificent snowflake, an even better river. I am in love with life, eternally.

You want to know if I had a teacher and what I had to learn? These are the kinds of questions that will require a longer acquaintance and the company of a pleasant fire. Yes, I had a teacher, a sorcerer who had long since transcended mortal existence, and it was from him I learned what I needed to know, lessons of the underworld taught in dreams of flesh and blood. What is this realm, you might ask? The shaman’s world, the underworld, the netherrealms of perception that are both Dreaming and Doing, no less real than the here and now.

JACK: What is the third attention really like? I have a hard time trying to understand what you mean. Why haven’t I experienced it? Will you show it to me?

ORLANDO: It is no more possible to describe third attention than it is to hold a snowflake in your hand. It will inevitably change form under scrutiny, and that is because it is always renewing itself through the power of creation. The words “third attention” mean little to me. I prefer the term “the seventh sense” because it is a term that gives a somewhat more conceivable notion of it. It is the world of experience which incorporates the five physical senses plus all the other perceptions traditionally called “the sixth sense”. Combined, it is a perception of “the seventh sense”. Just words, trying to capture that snowflake which can never be held.

I cannot show it to you because it is not my creation, not mine to show. And this is the very heart of this path of the heart. The seventh sense is a world of your own creation, thoughtforms called into being as a matter of your will, your desire. It is too great a simplification to say it is the self-created heaven or hell, but in a manner of speaking, that is precisely what it is.

What is the seventh sense? It is the ingredients of the answer to the first question: Who are you? I mean this quite literally.

**************

ADDENDUM... THE COMMAND OF THE DOUBLE

ORLANDO: Memory is reality, yes, as I have said before. I do not ever remember loving autumn any less than I do now, and those lonely dark roads that lead to shadows of roads that lead to icicle bright stars and crescent moons upon which and within which nest all the dreams I have come true and those yet waiting to be born.

I want to hear my name shouted on the wind again. Look for me in every shadow, in every streetlight suddenly burnt out, in rainshimmer and cloud cover, scent of chimney smoke and every coyote's cry, look for me. Listen for me. Sense me. I am always closer than you think, only as far away as the space between your heartbeats. Turn your head, there I’ll be, at the corner of your vision, always gazing, always waiting.

What is the dark side?

May. 4th, 2008 | 01:39 pm

QUESTION:  Does the dark side exist in the way we think, or does it even exist at all?

ORLANDO'S ANSWER:

To the fly in the web, it might be perceived that the spider is evil, and yet when viewed from a broader perspective, it may be seen that there are acts and circumstances which are labeled as good or evil, but the labels themselves are really only assignations of meaning based on humanform ideals and standards. As a species, humans may believe that certain acts or even certain thoughts are "evil", or they may believe that certain behaviours and concepts are "good - and from within the consensual agreement, it would be argued that Jeffrey Dahmer was "evil" while Mother Theresa was "good", and yet, if an impeccable warrior is to look only at energy, it will be discovered in both instances that women & men choose their acts based usually on their belief systems - and at the level of energy, belief systems are only intangible concepts which take on power as a result of what is done with them. There is a concept of good and evil, but without humans (or others) to bring those concepts into manifestation, both are only impotent words and not actual energetic forces at all.

Phrased another way, "There is no good or evil, only power."

Although that statement is not a popular one, from an energetic perspective it is true. There are beings (including human beings) who may make choices or follow a lifestyle that may be called "dark" or even "evil", but to my observations, there is no actual "force" in the multiverse which would qualify as "evil" because that would imply agenda and sentience (attributes assigned to the xtian 'devil", for example). Life would be simpler, perhaps, if such were the case, but I have seen no quantifiable evidence that it is.

Ah, but what must also be understood is that free will is really the only place where good or evil might exist - and then only as extensions of our actions and not as any autonomous force of darkness or light. It has been said in Toltec and most other spiritual systems of knowledge that there is 'the right way to live' and that this knowledge is inherent in every living thing. This is a truth. I will not attempt here to impart "the right way to live," for it is something that must be experienced in the heart and practiced in the Spirit.

When the statement is made, "There is no good or evil, only power," one must really look at the idea of power., for it is in one's own personal power that free will is practiced with an ever-present awareness of 'the right way to live'.

Orlando - April, 2008

***

(From a previous counseling done for another warrior a few years ago, Orlando had the following to say...)

Although there is no force of good or evil, there are "entities" created out of a sense of human malevolence which may take on a quasi-existence of their own for brief periods of time, and to a non-seer may be mistaken for "pure evil" - when they are really only the extensions of humanform agenda. These 'entities' are not unlike a tulpa in nature, for they are fleeting and transient unless maintained through the energyand will of their creator(s). That is not to say they are not dangerous or destructive, even lethal, and so it is important for the warrior to have a clarity of vision when dealing with such entities - and that clarity will usually reveal that the 'entity' is not from any "dark side", but is instead the unwitting manifestation of human activity (poltergeist activity would be one example). That awareness is the gem of the impeccable warrior's arsenal if s/he is ever called upon through circumstances to do battle with "evil."

A Kiss

Apr. 27th, 2008 | 06:41 am

Do you know why humans kiss?

Far more than a simple erotic gesture, a kiss of true passion is the closest humans can come to experiencing the life-essence of one another. It is even more intimate than making love, for there is an exchange of breath which gives us each a small taste of the other's lifeforce, the other's unique spirit.

The Door & The Decision

Apr. 27th, 2008 | 06:34 am

You are walking through the woods when you come upon a door that stands alone. You are given the knowledge that to pass through this door means a 50/50 chance of instant death or eternal life (whatever that term may mean to you personally). From the perspective of where you are on your path at this very moment, would you open that door?

The Intent of the Speaker

Apr. 21st, 2008 | 10:03 am

[NOTE: The following counseling was done in response to a seeker who had asked Orlando, "Why am I not progressing on my own path? What is holding me back?" This came at a time when this seeker would literally argue every point Orlando attempted to make. If he said, "The sky is blue," a debate would ensue. "The sky isn't really blue. It only appears that way because of atmospheric gases." What follows is Orlando's response to the idea of knowing the intent of the speaker. Although this was originally gleaned in 1997, it clearly has relevance still... and probably always will. - Della]

*****

You have come to a point in your journey when it is necessary to know the difference between words, and the intent behind the words. If I say to you, "Our journey together is not a matter of the destination so much as it is an exeprience of mind, body and spirit along the way," I have communicated to you a concept which is larger than the words themselves, yes? What is hoped is that you will know the intent of the speaker, rather than attempting to vivisect the words themselves.

You could say to me in return, "Ah, but Orlando, what do you mean by mind, body and spirit? You imply there is a destination, but where would that be and how would I get there?"

All of these questions would only indicate to me that you have missed the point entirely, and that you are attempting to use words to obfuscate meaning, semantics to distract from the intent of the speaker. And while this is to be expected from those new to the path, it is nothing less than disrespectful to yourself when it becomes a habit of a more advanced seeker. It is the chatter of your self-importance, operating on behalf of your ego.

If you know the intent behind the speaker's statement, yet you choose to engage in wordplay, then what you are really doing is diverting attention away from the subject at hand. There are many reasons to do so, but the most common is a laziness of mind. It is always easier to argue at the level of words than to engage openly at the level of intent and spirit. The second most common reason to divert attention in this manner is - quite simply - one's own self-importance. Playing with words and being thought of as clever holds more value for some than an actual exploration of the speaker's original intent.

It will always be possible to split words and divide particles, for energy is infinite, even its smallness. And yet, is there anything to be gained by doing so, or would far greater value be found through hearing and *seeing* what the speaker intended, rather than immediately allowing the internal dialogue to begin looking for ways to dispute it? If you are still at the core and examine what is intended, you will often discover that - in fact - you don't really 'disagree' at all. It is merely a habit to do so, rooted in some program still operating in the consensus.

It is not a matter of whether you agree with me or not. That is altogether irrelevant. And yet, if the disagreement resides wholly in a dispute of words or terminology, the point is lost and the status quo of the consensus is maintained and all is right with the world.

...or is it?

So it is time to choose and to make a commitment of awareness to yourself and your journey. Do you want to discuss ideas and concepts of the infinite and eternal, or do you want to infinitely and eternally debate the fallacies of language until all that remains is the psychobabble of language itself?

Make the impeccable choice.

With Mushrooms for Eyes

Apr. 18th, 2008 | 08:14 am

Last night as I saw outside in my cactus garden with Wendy - the first night it's been warm enough to do so this year - I found myself slipping into a deep gnosis with Orlando, until the assemblage point was reached where there was essentially no difference between us.  Impossible to describe this to anyone who  has not experienced it.  Words cannot wrap around what is seen through the eyes of the double.

Perhaps the most fascinating aspect of the experience was the realization that Orlando (and probably most folks' double) actually *sees* in the same way the mushroom ally sees.  The inner eyelids become a canvas for intense visuals, where no dialogue is present, only an instant and perfect understanding of whatever is being *seen*.

At one point, Orlando was watching one of these visuals that had to do with a young man he knew all those years ago when I was still living in the San diego area - where Orlando and I first met while he was in manifestation.  In this visual last night, the young man was essentially hanging out in a dimly lit alley, and I had an instantaneous knowing that this was someone w/ whom Orlando had once been friends - a musician at a local pub who had contracted AIDS and died in 1988.  But now, in this perfect little "movie," Orlando was seeing the young man as if no time had passed, and the very clear thought came to me, Orlando's thought, "Ah, so that is where you got lost and that is where I will go to find you again."

There was also a deep understanding that part of Orlando's purpose is to serve as a "guide" of sorts to others on a path toward evolution.  I cannot say whether all doubles do this, or if it is something only some may choose to do, but my feeling here was that Orlando could just as easily step back into that brick alley behind that little pub, back in the year 1986 or thereabouts, as easily as I could step out my door in the morning.  Time is no barrier, nor is the state humans call 'death'.  Inside the hologram, behind the mushroom's third eye, it is all the same - just a painting of energy on the double's inner eye.

There are those who would argue that it is a solitary journey and we have no right to "interfere" in the paths of others - and I would agree with that statement.  And yet, it was so clearly *seen* that as we ourselves evolve beyond the confines of this single mortal humanform existence, we become the inorganic allies, the singularities of consciousness who then have the opportunity to serve as teachers and guides to others who may be seeking, and who may not yet have sufficiently developed their own double to the point that the double may become their own best teacher.  So we offer a hand to one another from time to timeless time, with the understanding that no one is required to offer, and no one is required to accept. Through free will, we do as we are guided by Spirit.

Just seemed obvious.  Simple.  Perfect, somehow.  As I sat there in my lawn chair gazing up at the almost-full moon and watching the dappled shadows of the poplar tree playing in the intangible light thrown against the deep purple wall, there was no difference between the tree and the shadow, the light and the canvas upon which it was cast.

It's also fascinating when we inhabit the assemblage point of our double to notice that their manner of "seeing* is so altogether different from our humanform *seeing*.  At one point, Orlando was observing a visual which he immediately recognized as Wendy's double.  To his perceptions, it was a silver metal butterfly literally the size of a galaxy, with wings comprised of cobalt-blue sapphires - intricate and inorganic, perfect in its mere existence, it was like an oasis in Orlando's mind, a familiar and beloved "other" which evoked a response not unlike a human might experience when gazing fondly at a photo of one's life-companion.

When it was time to come inside and turn toward bed and dreaming, Orlando smiled and said a soft goodnight, and then my assemblage point was once again my humanform self.  Instead of seeing in visuals and symbols, I realized I was back to "thinking" and communicating with words, as Wendy and I talked aimatedly about it all might mean.

There are no concrete answers, of course, nor am I searching for any.  It was the experience itself that was both moving and revealing.  The double is a mystery, and also a sanctuary.  The double is the vessel of our awareness beyond this mortal life, yet the double has lifetimes of its own (what we mistakenly call "past lives").

As I was attempting to communicate some of this to Wendy, Orlando's voice said very clearly in my mind, "The purpose of the double is to bring you to your full potential, and to co-create with you the means whereby you achieve the totality of yourself."

And then he was off again, back into some corner of the infinite, where an old dead friend is wandering lost in a lonely brick alley outside of time.  What does he intend to do for that old friend's wandering spirit?  There are no words to communicate the double's intent at that level.  There is only the Knowing that our doubles are beings of infinite energy and expansive awareness which stretch far beyond anything we can even imagine from our humanform assemblage point.

Once in awhile, if we are lucky, we get glimpses into that evolved self, and it serves to fill us with awe and wonder all over again... just the muse doing his job on a mid-spring evening, somewhere at a rest stop on the path with heart.

Catching Sharks with Tweezers

Apr. 12th, 2008 | 08:12 am

Trying to comprehend the machinations of the nagual is rather like trying to catch a shark with tweezers.  So, with what said, the event I am going to describe here is simply a description of something that occurred yesterday - recorded only in the interests of providing a record so that patterns can be examined over a period of time.

...

It was hot.  Too hot.  Wendy was sick with a cold and I had gone out into an unfamiliar town to do some errands in preparation for our event this weekend.  Found a large outdoor shipping center which had all the things I thought I nmight need:  Trader Joe's, major grocery store, Chinese food for lunch, and a drug store - plus all of the accompanying smaller gift shops and the like.

So I parked at one end of the large cmplex and began my errands.  In the Trader Joe's, it occurred to me that people were unusually friendly - several strangers not only spoke to me in a casual manner, but three of them actually started up full blown conversations.  I didn't think too much o it, just finished up my shopping and moved on to the Chinese restaurant to order take-out for Wendy, who had stayed in the motorhome back at the event site.

Upon finishing up that little chore, I began walking toward the far end of the parking lot - the equivalent of about 2 city blocks - when I looked up to see one of the shops that jutted out and formed a "corner" was a tuxedo shop.  Friar Tux.  Cute name, I thought.

But then anything normal was plucked away like so much window dressing, and I found myself straddling some peculiar fence between one world and another.  No other way to describe it.  I was my normal "della-self" standing there on the sidewalk looking at the tux shop in the middle of a hot, sunny afternoon.  And at the same time, I had become a "different" Della-self standing on the same sidewalk... staring at the same tux shop... except to THAT self's perception, it was now dusk, and Orlando had just walked out of the shop, dressed in some incredible tux and looking like a perfect groom plucked from the pages of GQ or some such.

So my "normal" Della self is observing this while the parallel Della-self is experiencing it as if it is every bit as real as anything else.  Orlando meets my eyes and smiles warmly - a smile of familiarity, affection, gladness.  Walking over to me, he places one hand on my arm - the touch is warm, firm, solid.  Not a ghostly vision.  Not an old woman's fond remembrances.  Real.  Solid.  Whole.

Leaning down close to my ear - so close I could smell the scent of a fine cologne and feel his breath on my neck - he whispered, "I'm still 28."

When I knew Orlando in the flesh, he was 28, so the reference made sense.

And then, as quickly as I had been displaed in the time/space continuum like so much energetic fluff, I was back in my "ordinary" self, standing there on that too-hot sidewalk, wondering what the hell just happened.

My heart wasw racing.  I could barely breathe.  And yet... nothing at all seemed out of the ordinary.  It wasn't a stroke.  It wasn't a heart attack.  It was just the nagual having a party on the outskirts of parallel perception.

Upon returning to the motorhome and sitting down at the computer, I talked a bit about the experience on chat, and in the course of that conversation, I began to realize that there had been indicators PRIOR to the actual displacement.

Back in Trader Joe's, the first stranger who spoke to me was an old man, who addressed me in the manner of someone who already knows me.  "How have you been?" he asked, and began talking in such a way that I had thought it odd at the time, but hadn't yet put the pieces together.  It wasn't "as if" the old man knew me.  He DID know me.  We spoke only briefly, but it was clear this wasn't just some nice old man and a case of mistaken identity.  That's what I had believed at the time, but in light of other things, it now seems unlikely.

The second stronger who approached me at TJ's did so at the bread aisle.  Walking up to me as if he knew me, he boldly said, "Isn't it terrible how all the breads in the regular stores are laced with so much sugar?"  He might as well have been reading my mind, for that's what I'd been thinking as I stood there reading the labels.  He went on to make a comment to the effect, "We're conditioned to crave sugar because it's in everything we eat, but for those of us who are diabetic, it's a huge issue!"

Now, at the time, I thought perhaps he was referring to himself as a diabetic.  After all, he was a stranger, and there was no way he could know anything about me or my medical history.  So I conversed with him in a friendly manner, and figured perhaps the people of this town had just become unduly friendly over the six months since I had last been here.

At the checkout counter, the elderly gay clerk was so friendly and outgoing, one might have thought I was his long lost sister.  "You folks are going to be out at the park this weekend, aren't you?" he asked.  Now, my tonal brain being fully engaged, I figured he was someone who had been to the ren faire in the past and just recognized me.  So I struck up a conversation with him about the weather and the preparations which were underway, but throughout the dialogue, I kept thinking that he was extremely "familiar".

Okay, in hindsight... I can either write it off asw the lunatic ravings of a madwoman, or I can look at these events from the eyes of a warrior, and see that perhaps one of those doorways I've been looking for finally opened a crack, and allowed me to catch a glimpse of some parallel self, some alter-world where I am me but not me,, where I must live here in this city instead of in the desert - actually not far from where I DID live when I knew Orlando in manifestation.

"I'm still 28."

I've been thinking about that message and what it might mean.  What it really seems to be saying to me is that the double is ageless and timeless, and that nothing has changed since he and I were last here in this place where we never were at all when we were walking around together back in the kate 80s and early 90s.   Inside the hologram - which exists outside of time - he is still 28, and I am the bride to the muse which can never be caught, and everything is unfolding precisely as it should... even if I cannot at times wrap my ordinary-humanform mind around some of these strange twists and turns on the road which exists only after we walk it.

There is no conclusion, for none is possible.

There is only the experience itself, and Rod Serling somewhere in the shadows of that forever-dusk world, reminding us that the world is not only stranger than we imagine, it is often the door to the Twilight Zone, even in broad daylight on a hot afternoon in Escondido.

A Plume of Smoke

Feb. 5th, 2008 | 09:43 am

Endless dunes. Buttercup, I think it's called. An area near the California/Arizona border where the shifting sands move like a sea in the wind, and border patrol agents scan the horizon with high-tech binoculars. An odd contrast between nature and man.

But it wasn't the dunes or the agents that caught my interest as I drove along the I-8 yesterday morning. Instead, coming home from a long weekend at the Yuma Renaissance Faire, I was in a quiet and contemplative frame of mind, as if often the case when driving long distances. My mind wandered over some details of my spiritual journey as it has progressed over the past few years, sort of a spontaneous recapitulation of where I have been, where I might be going, and the general thoughts that flood one's mind when one is pondering the big questions of life, death, existence, oblivion and the like.

As we exited the freeway to turn north on one of the backroads cutting through the desert near the Salton Sea, I saw a distant plume of smoke on the horizon - probably the exhaust from some far-away factory, or a bonfire near the Mexican border.

A sudden influx of feeling flooded me. Thoughts that were not my thoughts, but cogitations of the double, the assemblage point of the higher self, Orlando. Not possible to wrap words around those thoughts, for they came at lightning speed and in a language that is neither human nor alien, but simply the language of spirit, the voice of the logos. Orlando breathed deep in my lungs, and I had become that plume of smoke and the sharp blue sky behind it and the single white cloud on the western horizon, and the roll of motion that was consciousness itself. A sensation in my chest was like a zing! of energy, spreading downward into the belly, outward to the fingertips, upward to the head.

"To remember an insignificant plume of smoke for all of eternity is what it means to be an immortal," Orlando said, though without the clumsy heaviness of words. It was simply a knowing, a gnosis, a perfect certainty which can neither be given nor received, but only experienced for the moment in which it exists. "To remember the cobblestone streets of Paris on the night of a storm in the year 1712 with a white cat huddled in the shelter of a doorway... that, too, is what it means to be immortal. We are the hard drive where all existence is recorded."

Immortal. What does the word even mean? When I first began this journey, I would have said my quest was for immortality, yet the word carries so much baggage with it... the idea that one would simply live forever in an organic construct of some sort... No... that is not what was meant by the word this time. That is not what the word means.

So I talked to Orlando and the logos for awhile about the concept itself. What is it to simply BE forever? Is it what we call eternal? But that, too, is an inadequate word.

A field of alfalfa stretched out to the east, undulating like some green sea in the wind. It was disorienting, sufficieintly so to shift the assemblage point ever so slightly. A sea of grass. A river of wind. An ocean of time.

The world stopped.

Time had become a holographic map, a pirate's chart, a lost map. I was 17 again, a wild child running wild through dark orange groves where magical beings in the guise of men walked with me and taught me and tempted me always deeper into the thickets. I was 21 again, just another port on the map, at a time when the fire was still hot in my chest and the unspoiled marshlands of Miami were like a beckoning mystery waiting to be discovered... a marshland where magickal things were the norm and mystical teachers appeared in the form of wandering spirits playing drum and mandolin.

There in the motorhome, the breath caught in my throat, bringing me back to the Now. And yet, it was ALL in the Now, simply accessed by a shift of the assemblage point. I do not mean this as some metaphorical analogy, but as a literal and very real movement of the AP from "now" to "then" and from "then" to "now". A perceptual awareness of time at the quantum level. To say "the world stopped" is only words. To experience the stopping of the world is something each warrior must do for herself, or be satisfied with the words alone.

The odd thing which became apparent only from the quantum observation of the "now" (what we would call "the real world") was that there was some hesitation to give oneself over to those other ports on the time-map. When I experienced that feeling of being 17 again, or 21, there was some sense within "real time" that because I could not wholly go back to that time (or believed I couldn't), there was some emotional danger in even allowing myself to experience it at all. Put more simply: it was a feeling not unlike an old woman might have when looking at a handsome and alluring young man. Best not to want those things one cannot have. Bittersweet. Melancholy. A plume of sentient smoke in an entropic hurricane.

And yet...

Despite the almost instinctual urge to return to "real time", I found myself embroiled in a conversation with Orlando, as he was asking me WHY it is that humans have such a reaction. "There it is," he said, gesturing toward the orange grove and the 17-year-old self standing there with the breath of life burning hot in her lungs. "Even from the Now, you can still touch the fire just by moving your awareness into that assemblage point, yes?"

There was some truth to that. It was more than some nostalgic recollection of some shennanigans of the past. For, in fact, the past I was viewing and experiencing was not technically my own past at all. It was the same character, the same Della, but somehow imbued with the subconscious awareness of the person I have become. In other words, it was as if the Della of the Now was the gamemaster capable of directing the actions of the Della at 17.

Hmmm.

For about 2 years now, I have been working with what I have loosely come to call "the seduction of myself". What this amounts to is that I have given my double the agenda of going into my own past and subtly but firmly guiding my past self in such a direction that she WILL embrace this path, so as to eventually become a warrior, a sorcerer, and a woman of knowledge. The result is what Peter J. Carroll refers to in his book, Liber Kaos, as "retroactive enchantment" - wherein a sorcerer operating in the present may actually influence the outcome of events in the past.

Hmmm.

There were many moments in my life when I technically *should* have wandered off into the consensual reality and disappeared forever. I got married, thinking that a stable lifestyle and a steady job would make me into the responsible adult my mother always wanted me to be. I moved away from Miami to (theoretically) leave behind all the strange experiences that had been haunting me for years. In San Diego, I put on heels and a proper lady's suit, and struggled to embrace the corporate world as if it might somehow give meaning to the shadows, or at least make them go away.

And yet...

Whenever I would turn a corner toward A Normal Life, one of those old spirits would be standing there with a greeting card that essentially said, "This is not the path you have chosen for yourself. It is not your destiny to inhabit the trappings of a normal life, because deep in your heart you know that is the play, the illusion, the lie."

Ah, the stories I could tell you. None of which would be believed, because the truth is almost always unbelievable.

Sitting at my desk one afternoon at the insurance company where I was employed in Miami Beach, I received a phone call from a man who said he had something to tell me that would "change your life forever." I was 21 at the time, and loved a good intrigue as much as anyone else. So I gave him the go-ahead, and he proceeded to tell me that my father was not my father, though he would give no other information. When I asked him why he had told me this at all, he said with a little laugh, "To give you the freedom you are going to need."

A long strange trip it's been. It wasn't until I was 50 years old that I was finally told the truth about my parents. Indeed, the man whom I had always been told was my biological father... wasn't. The voice on the phone hadn't lied. But who WAS the voice on the other end of the phone? Many would say it was my biological father, yet that was impossible, because the man who WAS my biological father never knew until many, many years later.

Hmmm.

Twists and turns in the plot of time. Machinations of the double. All those wonderful intrigues lighting all those magnificent fires in the heart, sparking the spirit, igniting the infinite.

There is no moral to this ramble, except the ramble itself. To be immortal is to be the infinite self, outside of time. But those are just words which will mean absolutely nothing to one who has not experienced the essence which lies beyond the words. To be immortal is to embrace the fire of youth while imbuing it with the wisdom & experience of age. Retroactive enchantment. That, too, is an aspect of the infinite immortal self.

And so I go on seducing myself, becoming the muse which is sent into the past to lead me into the Now.

Once in awhile, when the fates are kind and the wind is blowing in the right direction off the dark sea which is the nagual, I catch a glimpse of the work in progress, and for a moment I am immortal in a wisp of smoke from some far-away bonfire which was undoubtedly lit by myself to lure me to that one infinite moment which is the apex of the totality of myself.

Words dancing, jousting partners.

When I touched the fire in the heart of the Self, I understood wholly the plume of smoke.

Emerging into Freedom

Jan. 12th, 2008 | 09:07 am

This is a communication received from Orlando, which has recently become very relevant in my own life.  It is fascinating indeed to be able to say that I have watched this "prediction" go through the motions of actually occurring.

***

This is a path most often walked alone in the dark, with only the silence for company - that is the way of the warrior, and though it is lonesome at times it is nonetheless what the warrior who is seeking feeedom does, because that is his nature.

Perhaps the warrior becomes a sorcerer and seer, and then the path might appear to broaden to include others with similar interests, fellow travelers with whom the warrior/sorcerer may share fine red wine and a campfire in the desert where tales of power are told in the night that never ends. And for a time, this is what the warrior/sorcerer does, because this has become his new nature.

For those who become women and men of Knowledge, it may appear that one is surrounded by friends and allies, apprentices and mentors - the fullness of life. It may appear that the campfires of exploration have burned to the softer embers of lasting wisdom, and that those around you will share the path at your side until the eagle descends to challenge you one by one. And for a time, this is how a man of knowledge experiences his life, for now this has become his new nature, seeking inward what was once sought outward, assimilating experience into Knowledge and knowledge into manifestation.

And yet, in all the roads I have walked and all the warriors and sorcerers and men of Knowledge I have known, only one thing is constant.

There will come a day when those closest to you will turn their backs, when your apprentices may draw a blade and your mentors may shun you and your allies may abandon you and you may find yourself at the edge of the abyss with an army eager to push you over the edge, and if you look closely, you will see that it is because you will not be what they want you to be (for to do so would invalidate who you are) you cannot walk to their drummer's beat (for to do so would drown out your own), or in some manner you are said to have turned your back on the eclectic collective which embraced you for a time, and so you are perceived as a heretic and an ingrate and a fraud and a cheat. "Come back to us or else!" they may cry. "We love you and that is reason enough!" And yet to the seer who *sees*, that 'love' will be seen as an attachment of need, and the finest gift you can give to them and to yourself is to cut that umbilical and take a cleansing breath which is the birth of the emerging self.

If you listen with spirit, if you look with your third eye, what you will *see* is that this is the finest and best moment of your life, for this is the moment when you will simply Know that you have found your freedom. You will realize as if for the first time that the truth of your path is of far greater value than the approval or even the love of your mortal friends and family, and that it is only by remaining true to yourSelf in the darkest night that you enable yourself to emerge into the light of the singularity of your totality. It is only then that you may gaze into the infinite and finally *see* that your cohesion is comprised of your own experience and not based in any manner on what any other living being may want or need or hope for you to be.

This is the day when you will answer the first question. This is the moment you will know who you are. When the world is at its coldest and the fires have burnt to ash and all the mirrors have been shattered by your own hand, this is the moment when you will embrace your freedom. And this is the time when you will bow graciously to the world of matter and men, and rather than allowing them to push you into the abyss, you will fall willingly and with perfect trust into the totality of yourSelf, and fly.

Which Came First?

Dec. 22nd, 2007 | 09:05 am

A seeker wrote:
Orlando,

I've heard you and Della talk about 'the super position of the assemblage point' and I'm wondering if you could shed some light on that. In particular I'm wondering how this might impact a warrior in the now, or how knowing more about the super position of the AP could be used in dreaming or astral work.

The super position of the assemblage point is nothing. And it is everything. It is nowhere. Yet it is everywhere. It does not exist within linear time. Yet it is the entirety of time as well as the absence of time.

If you were to visualize the All as a marble which might be held in the palm of your hand, that would give you an idea of the super position of the assemblage point. The marble contains everything - all of space and time, all of the past and the future, all things that have happened, and (most importantly) all of the infinite possibilities which have NOT been forced to go through the motions of actually occurring. From the super position of the assemblage point - which might be described as non-local and ubiquitous - the entirety of the All is accessible as possibility, and yet only the do-ing (localizing) will result in experience.

To those who would say that the double is therefore ominiscient, I would point out that this is really not the case. Though the All may be experienced as possibility, it is only through the actual do-ing (localizing) that 'history' is created in the form of experiential memory.

It is from the super position of the assemblage point that the double functions. When I have said to Della that I am the fire in the canyon or the intangible sparkle of light captured in a raindrop, those statements are not intended as metaphor or poetry, but as an actuality of experience. From the super position of the assemblage point, all things exist as potential for energy. It could not even be said that what is as yet unmanifested is "energy". It is, instead, the potential for energy, which is then made to manifest by intent and an application of Will.

It is through the intent of the mortal self that the will of the double may be invoked.

When you ask how this may impact a warrior in the now, consider that it is the mortal self who dreams the double. As I have said to Della countless times: "You are the creator of reality. I am only its servant." Or as don Juan once said to Carlos, "I am at your service."

It is when the mortal self summons intent (an active force of energetic creation) that it could be said, "The self is dreaming the double." To follow that thinking further, it is when the double localizes his energy and manifests experience through the application of Will, that it may be said, "The double is now dreaming you."

The mortal self operates from a fixed position of the assemblage point (fixed, meaning from within a humanform lifetime), whereas the double is summoned from the super position of the assemblage point - which may manifest or localize anywhere within (or outside of) the space/time continuum. I have lived a thousand lifetimes and died a thousand deaths, and yet I am Whole and eternal because there is the awareness of free Will - and my Will is to remain I-Am regardless of where or when that I-Am manifests in the tonal.

What most humans fail to recognize is that they themselves are the source. You are the creators of reality. Even if the double is Dreaming you, it is because you (and only you) have chosen through actions to Dream the double. If t here is an oversoul or a super position of the assemblage point, it is not because angels placed it there like stars in the heavens, but because you yourself placed it there through intent and the energetic force of self-awareness.

If you were to ask the rhetorical question: "Which came first, the self or the double?" the answer is simple to one who sees. The self is the source, though many would tell you otherwise, because it is easier to believe in some already-immortal overmind than it is to take upon yourself the heavy responsibility for creating that force as a singularity of consciousness.

Put another way: the gods exist, but only if the one true god creates them. There is only one true god, and that is the one for which humans have been searching for centuries, but always manage to overlook when gazing at the reflection over the bathroom sink. And for as long as one searches externally for what is intenral, one will find ways to convince oneself that one is an impotent sloth, when in reality, each one of you contains the full and complete power of all of the universe in a single thought.

Having awareness of this enables the warrior in the now to more effectively direct the power of her own intent, which in turn Dreams a more cohesive double.

Intent is the architect. Will is the power to manifst the architect's Dreaming.

Orlando, Julian & Clarity

Dec. 15th, 2007 | 10:09 am

Went to bed early last night, and fell into what amounted to Dreaming that lasted for several hours. Though I was not "lucid" per se, there was no particular dream-like quality either. Meaning - this experience had the quality of a so-called 'astral' experience, or perhaps simply a meeting on another plane of awareness.

I found myself in a dark room, perhaps 15 x 15'. On each side of the room was a window, where light-weight curtains wafted in a warm breeze blowing in from the night. The only furniture in the room consisted of a straight-back chair and what appeared to be something like a wooden bench covered with fabric. The floors were dark wood and had the quality of having been recently polished with oil.

In the chair sat the nagual, Julian. On the bench was Orlando. I myself was sitting cross-legged on the floor, so the 3 of us formed a small circle. It must also be noted that when I entered this dreaming, I was "given" what amounts to a download of tremendous background information from Julian - rather like he simply gifted me with an awareness of the "history" which would be pertinent to our conversation.

In my real life of late, I have been wrestling with the enemy of clarity. It was my belief that I had "defeated" that enemy, but as Orlando pointed out almost immediately upon my entering the Dreaming, "None of the enemies are ever truly defeated. They merely cycle, depending on events in the tonal and movements within the nagual."

This was where the conversation opened, though it is impossible to place it in any sort of linear time format. Much of what was discussed was spontaneous and instantaneous, so it would be impossible to say who spoke first, or in response to whom. So it's only in the interest of trying to have it "track" that I am going to lay it out "as if" it were a linear discussion.

In the same way that Julian had gifted me with a portion of his history, it was apparent that he knew my own history as well, including my current battles with clarity. At the onset of the conversation, he laughed and essentially said that clarity had taught him to dislike and occasionally even despise most people equally.

This surprised me greatly, for in the books he had been portrayed as a force to be reckoned with, though never in such a "dark" manner to my recollection. I asked him (without words) why he felt that way, and again there was a download of information which revealed that clarity was an enemy with which he himself had wrestled for many years, and one that never completely was laid to rest.

The bottom line was expressed in the words, "The price one pays for clarity is that you suddenly see not only the energy of the world, but the energy that goes to make up people. You see their agendas and their lies and their fears, and if you are not very careful those baser aspects of human beings may obscure the more elevated states of hope or love or whatever it is that might pass for goodness."

Included with that statement was a tremendous download of images which cannot be captured in words. Basically it was what I could only call the energetic matrix of seeing itself. You see a man standing on a street corner and you may suddenly know more about him that one might "want" to know, just for example.

When I turned my question to Orlando, his response was somewhat different. He himself does not "dislike" people, but is almost entirely indifferent to them. And the interesting thing here was that he and Julian were in agreement even when they disagreed - which, of course, was a fascinating thing to witness, too.

Orlando spoke of clairity by saying, "At the level of energy, human beings are motivated largely by fear as it pertains to survival. The things they do are neither good nor bad, but simply reactions to the world around them. Those who are in some manner of control of their lives (though control is ultimately an illusion) learn to see that nothing is personal and so detachment naturally follows. The danger of clarity is that it can become a fixation of the attention: you stare at the energetic spirals and tangles for so long, trying to figure out the logic of it, eventually you risk getting caught in the gravity of the spiral itself, not unlike a ship getting caught in a whirlpool."

In the background of all of this, I realized that what I was really trying to gain was some semblance of "sanity" in a world that often appears quite mad to me. But even as I had that thought, it carried with it the entire "history" of my perspective. It was as if I had written an autobiography of my experiences, and all of that information was immediate available to Julian and Orlando.

It was at this point that Julian began to talk about madness, clarity and the nagual. His words, loosely paraphrased, were, "Every nagual seer who is authentic eventually tastes madness, though it is not really what you may think."

Orlando added: "If you were to place one sane man in the midst of an asylum, he would appear quite mad to the other inmates, and eventually even to himself."

The discussion moved back and forth between clarity and madness and why the actions of many of the old naguals (and even some of the new ones) may be perceived as absoultely insane from the perspective of he platform of ordinary awareness.

Orlando went on to explain, "A seer cannot see the world as it is and not be changed. That is a fact. A nagual seer faces double jeopardy, because there is a dual perception which complicates it even further, since the nagual exists in the tonal and the nagual simultaneously. Your clarity comes from the nagual, filters through the lens of the tonal, and by the time you actually *see* the energetic filaments of what is real, you also see the madness all around you created by the consensual agreement which upholds largely what is NOT real."

"This is why clarity is an enemy," Julian stressed. "What you *see* is real, but it is mired in the madness of the consensus, so you start thinking you're crazy."

At that point, he made a funny face, all twisted and a bit scary. "No hay curación, mi amor."

Near as I can determine, it translates to, "There is no cure, my love."

The accompanying background information told me that he himself had wrestled with clarity for years, and though it has occasionally led to some dark nights of the soul, he had eventually learned to laugh at it. Orlando had mastered it through detachment, and the awareness that all things are fleeting and impermanent - people most of all.

Each of them pointed out something of great value with regard to clarity.

Julian said: "The price for clarity is that you no longer have the luxury of believing what is not real."

Orlando's version was: "Seeing the world for what it is changes the assemblage point permanently."

Another aspect that was discussed centered around what happens when a "nagual seer" (Julian's words) tries to intereact with someone who DOESN'T see. It was expressed in terms along the lines of:

It's like two people looking at the same sky, and one seeing that it is blue (and WHY it is blue). The other person seeing it as blue, but more like colors applied with crayon. To the one who doesn't see, there is no "grokking" of the long line of energetic connections that tell a seer WHY the sky is blue.

According to Julian, "A nagual seer does not see the sky but the energy that forms the illusions that there is a sky at all. You take for granted that others see the same thing, but they cannot see it at all because they are too busy wasting energy thinking about sex and fucking and where their next fuck is coming from."

That image caused me to laugh, but Orlando just shot me a look that said it was no joke. Then he turned and looked out the window which was at his back, and I could only wonder what he might be seeing. What lay beyond those windows in this tiny room?

As if hearing my thought, he turned and held out a hand to me. Without fear, I took it, and went to look out that intriguing window.

The next thing I knew, it was morning.

Obviously there would be little point attempting to distill this own into 25 words of less if asked, "What does it mean?"

It's a work in progress.
